After Hyderabad, British Airways will introduce its ultra-modern B787 Dreamliner aircraft in the Chennai-London route – an important link to people going to the US. It will also increase the frequency between the two destinations to a daily service from the earlier six days a week. Both will be effective October 27.
“Chennai and Hyderabad are key sectors going forward for the airline. We expand where we see growth,” Christopher Fordyce, Regional Commercial Manager, British Airways, South Asia, told newspersons without giving any numbers.
The airline has introduced a discount offer of all inclusive economy fare starting at ₹49,230 from Chennai to London for tickets booked by October 31 for outbound travel until March 31, 2015.
The announcement marks British Airways’ 90 years of service to India and the increase in service from Chennai reiterates the airlines’ commitment to the market. The daily service will give business and leisure customers the opportunity to connect with British Airways’ global network from Heathrow, he said.
