DP World Kochi and the Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry will sign an MoU to operate the 24-hour help centre at Walayar.
The function will be held at the Chamber Hall on Friday and Mr Paul Anthony, Chairman, Cochin Port Trust, will be the chief guest.
The help centre will be beneficial for exporters and importers routing their consignments through Cochin Port to sort out difficulties faced at check-posts. It will also help in tracking the containers routed through Cochin Port for loading. Similarly the documents to be submitted at the check-posts could be made ready in advance to avoid undue delay.
Mr K.K. Krishnadas, CEO of India Gateway Terminal Pvt Ltd; Mr Vijay Kalsi, Commissioner of Customs; and Mr C.J. Mathew, Development Commissioner of CSEZ; will be present at the meeting. Stakeholders such as Port Users Community, Commodity Boards, exporters and importers will also be present.
