IBS Software, a leading technology provider to the aviation industry, is organising a three-day ‘IBS Airline Forum’ in Kochi from Wednesday.

More than a hundred delegates representing over 40 leading airlines in the world will attend the annual conclave, according to VK Mathews, Executive Chairman, IBS Group.

Theme of event

The theme for this year would be ‘Leading in a digital world’, reflecting the increasing role disruptive technology and innovations are likely to play in the way airlines do business. Experts in the industry will share their thoughts on the digital future and discuss key issues that are shaping the aviation industry.

Digital has now shifted from a hygiene factor to a means of survival in many industries, Mathews said. Airline business is no different. Digital technology has to be leveraged for transforming internal and external operations to stay ahead of competition.

“IBS Airline Forum will be a key platform for understanding the plethora of digital opportunities for the global aviation industry,” Mathews observed.

The event will include plenary meetings as well as user group meetings of IBS’ aviation lines of business – passenger reservation, cargo, airline operations, MRO, loyalty and staff travel. It would be the first time that a mega event of this nature is being organised in the country, Mathews said.

Participants

Participants will be drawn from Chief Executive Officers, Chief Information Officers, technology experts, thought leaders and independent analysts form these companies.

They will get together to brainstorm on how IT can enable smart business transformation and help airlines maximise revenues, improve efficiency and reduce costs, Mathew said.

This will be also one of the largest conglomerations of airline companies to be hosted by an individual IT solutions provider in the country.

Confirmed attendees include Lufthansa, KLM, All Nippon Airways, Aer Lingus, British Airways, China Eastern, Etihad, Indigo, Jet Airways, Oman Air, Qantas, Qatar Airways, South African Airways, China Southern, Nippon Cargo Airlines, Eva Air, and Virgin Australia.
