Singapore has nominated Changi Airport as the operator to take up the operation and management of Jaipur and Ahmedabad airports, along with the Airports Authority of India, RK Srivastava, Chairman of AAI, said on Wednesday.
The Government-to-Government agreement was signed earlier on November 24 during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Singapore, which will see Changi manage the retail space inside terminal buildings and car parking spaces, a senior AAI official said. The operations of the airports, however, will remain with AAI.
“The team from Changi is expected to visit the two airports in January. Before we could decide on what the terms and conditions could be, the Singapore government had to nominate a party from its side. Now that this has happened, everything else will follow,” Srivastava said on the sidelines of a function.
