Lufthansa operations to India have been affected by its pilots’ strike. According to an airline spokesman, Tuesday’s departures from Delhi to Frankfurt and Munich had to be cancelled, as were those from Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai to Frankfurt. “Our flight from Mumbai to Munich operated as did all flights operated by our Lufthansa Group airlines; SWISS and Austrian Airlines,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added that all passengers have been transferred to Lufthansa’s operating flights, to Lufthansa Group airlines SWISS and Austrian Airlines as well as other airlines to enable them to reach their destinations with as less delay.
According to an AFP report, the pilots are striking over the management’s plans to raise the age at which pilots can take early retirement.
