South Central Railway has bagged the Govind Vallabh Pant Efficiency Shield, jointly with Western Railway, in recognition of its performance among all the 17 zones of Indian Railways for 2011-12. SCR has bagged the award after a gap of six years. In addition, SCR bagged the All India Performance Efficiency Shields in five disciplines — civil engineering, mechanical engineering, stores, level crossing and road over bridge safety works and running room. Mr G.N. Asthana, SCR General Manager, will receive the awards from Mr Mukul Roy, Union Minister of Railways on April 16in New Delhi.
