About 15 million tonnes of freight was loaded through rail from the Krishnapatnam Port during the current financial year by the end of December, 2018 by the South Central Railway (SCR). The officials of the SCR held a review meet with freight customers of Krishnapatnam Port and port management to resolve issues, if any. A new railway line between Obulavaripalle - Krishnapatnam port, expected to be commissioned shortly, is likely to help further improve the loading, according to a release.
