SpiceJet on Monday became the first lndian low-cost carrier to a complimentary in-flight entertainment system.

The in-flight entertainment system 'SpicEngage' will allow flyers to watch movies, TV shows and play games on-board SpiceJet flights using their own mobile phones, tablets or laptops.

“I am excited to announce the launch of our new in-flight entertainment system, SpicEngage, which will vastly improve the onboard experience of our flyers. Passengers can now use their own phones and tablets onboard SpiceJet to watch their favourite shows, play games, read and do much more,” said Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, SpiceJet.

SpicEngage has been strategically designed with attractive and creative content aimed at an audience across all ages. Unlike traditional in-flight entertainment systems, flyers can easily access SpicEngage on their hand-held devices by following a few easy steps. The system is currently available aboard on all SpiceJet’s domestic and international flights.

SpicEngage will host a plethora of content broadly classified under five categories – Watch, Play, Explore, Read and Eat. In the ‘Watch’ section, flyers will be able to watch cartoons, popular web series like 'Permanent Roommates' and 'What the Folks', stand-up comedy videos by popular artists besides short movies.

The ‘Explore’ section throws open a platform for travel and lifestyle enthusiasts offering tips and guidance on fashion, tours and beyond. The section features Spice Vacations -- a travel portal that recommends combo deals on flights and hotels -- and SpiceStyle, an e-commerce portal that features in-house fashion brands among many others. The ‘Read’ section offers a whole lot of content especially for well-read travellers who prefer to keep themselves abreast with the latest in the aviation industry. The section also offers ‘city guides’ that can come handy for travel-hardened flyers keen on city tours.
