Titagarh Wagons Ltd, the flagship company of the Titagarh Group, has launched the first of the coastal research vessels, ‘Sagar Tara’. The vessel was built for the National Institute of Ocean Technology under the Union Ministry of Earth Sciences.
According to a release from Titagarh Wagons, the vessel was launched on Tuesday, three months ahead of schedule. The vessel which houses state-of-the-art laboratories, will enable scientists conduct various oceanographic research missions.
Apart from Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Science and Technology, MA Atmanand, Director of National Institute of Ocean Technology; Jagdish Prasad Chowdhary, Executive Chairman, Titagarh Wagons, and Umesh Chowdhary, company’s Vice-Chairman & Managing Director, were present.
