Wind power prices fell below ₹3 a unit during the auction of wind energy generation capacity in Tamil Nadu and Gujarat. According to industry representatives in the know, at least 5 players had bid fell below ₹2.97 a unit till the time of going to press.
The bids opened at 3.00 pm, lower than the existing record of ₹3.42 a unit for wind power. Renew Power, ENEL, Inox Wind, Sembcorp, Adani Green Energy and Hero Future Energies have bid for 250 MW each in the tender. Orange Group has bid for 200 MW and Spring had bid for 192 MW.
Leap Green Energy, Mytrah, Continuum Wind Energy, and Regen PowerTech were also contesting.
