The application development and maintenance division of Allianz Cornhill Information Services (ACIS) and Allianz Insurance UK have been jointly assessed at ‘Maturity Level 5 of CMMI Dev V1.3’ using the assessment methodology Scampi AV1.3.

Capability Maturity Model (CMMI) is a process model promoted by the Software Engineering Institute of Carnegie Mellon University of the US as an industry best practice for application development.

HIGHEST LEVEL

Maturity Level 5 is the highest level given to an organisation operating under this process model. ACIS has been Level 5 organisation from 2007, following an earlier version of CMMI.

With this, ACIS has joined an elite group of companies in the world to have achieved CMMI Level 5 using the latest model and assessment methodology, a spokesperson for the company said here.

Established in 2003 as an offshore captive IT/ITeS centre for Allianz Insurance UK, ACIS has grown to more than 1,000 staff today and operates out of the Technopark campus here.

GROUP SERVICES

Recently ACIS has started providing services to Allianz Group companies across Europe, the US and Asia-Pacific. Allianz is one of the largest financial services companies in the world, headquartered in Munich, Germany.

Mr Rakesh Gupta, Managing Director, ACIS, described the latest accreditation as a major milestone in the company’s journey to achieve process excellence.

“We are seeing the benefits of CMMI best practices in the form of high quality, timely and cost-effective software deliveries to customers,” he added.

Such accreditations have helped the company in being able to attract and retain highly competent and skilled talent, Mr Jison John, Head of Systems Development, said.
