The West Bengal IT, Industries and Commerce Minister, Mr Partha Chatterjee, will meet the Infosys co-founder, Mr N.R. Narayana Murthy, on Saturday.
Mr Chatterjee, however, did not elaborate on the issues that will be discussed at the meeting.
On June18, the West Bengal Chief Minister, Ms Mamata Banerjee, had met investors in the State, and made it clear that information technology (IT) will be one of the focus areas of her government for its growth.
It was later decided that the State will set up a core committee to determine its IT policy. Mr Murthy will mentor the core committee on IT software policy.
Telecommunications expert and advisor to the Prime Minister on public information infrastructure and innovations, Mr Sam Pitroda, is expected to head the committee on hardware development to be set up by the State government.
