Cadence Design Systems Inc has set-up a new research and development (R&D) facility, one of four in India, at Pune.

The new facility will house employees engaged in technology development of various Cadence configurable processors and related products. Cadence acquired Tensilica in 2013, which has had an R&D facility in Pune since 2006.

Jaswinder Ahuja, corporate vice president and managing director, Cadence Design Systems (I) Pvt. Ltd., said, “The team in Pune is working on cutting-edge development of digital signal processors (DSP) and other IP technology, and the Pune facility is among the best-in-class globally.”

Cadence’s Pune R&D facility is involved with creating world-class software for various Tensilica DSP cores, contributing significantly to RTL verification, developing an integrated design environment (IDE) for the next-generation configurable Xtensa processors and providing in-depth technical support to worldwide customers.

Headquartered in San Jose, Cadence enables global electronic design innovation and plays an essential role in the creation of today's integrated circuits and electronics. Customers use Cadence software, hardware, IP and services to design and verify advanced semiconductors, consumer electronics, networking and telecommunications equipment, and computer systems.
