Bolstering its product portfolio in the Indian market, Honor, Huawei’s sub-brand, on Thursday unveiled its new Honor 9i smartphone.

Priced at ₹17,999, the smartphone features dual camera on both the front and back and sports a full view display. On the front, the device sports a 13-megapixel dual-lens and a 16-megapixel dual-lens on the back.

The company claims that it is the only phone in India to have two dual cameras and FullView FHD+ display. “We are thrilled to launch a phone, which can be termed a global first, as the Honor 9i is the only phone so far to boast of two dual cameras and FullView FHD+ display,” said Peter Zhai, President Huawei India Consumer Business Group.

He also added that Honor is trying to bring new techonolgy to Indian market to attract young people. “As frontrunners in bringing breakthrough technology as well as great features at attractive prices, we remain committed to bringing best-in-class devices and services to our users in India,” added Zhai.

The Honor 9i features a 5.9-inch full-HD display and a screen resolution of 1080x2160 pixels. The phone comes with metal unibody design.

The phone is powered by the Honor’s own octa-core Kirin 659 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. It runs on EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7.0 Nougat.

The 9i sports a 3340mAh battery and the company claims that it delivers power efficiency with talk time up to 20 hours. The smartphone will be available on Flipkart in three variants – Prestige Gold, Aurora Blue and Graphite Black – from October 14.
