Microsoft India is planning to hire 2,500 and build space for its new employees at its 54-acre campus at Gachibowli here.

After 20 years of its establishment in Hyderabad, Microsoft India Development Centre (MSIDC) will have a fourth building to accommodate the new hires. About half of the 8,000 employees that Microsoft has in India work out of its Hyderabad campus, its second biggest campus after Redmond facility.

“We are running out of space here at the MSIDC. We have taken space at the Hi-Tec City for now. We will work on the new building at our MSIDC campus,” Anil Bhansali, Corporate Vice-President (Cloud and Enterprise) and Managing Director of Microsoft India (R&D) Private Ltd, said.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the launch of its start-up initiative Garage here on Monday, he, however, did not elaborate on the exact timeline to complete works on the new building.

Earlier addressing the inaugural of Garage, Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao spoke about Microsoft’s hiring plans for Hyderabad.
