Taiwan-based AOC, which manufactures LED and LCD displays, has entered the Indian smartphone market with two 3G-enabled smartphones and a 3G calling tablet.
The $12.2-billion company said the products, targeted at the youth, fall in the sub-Rs 10,000 category. The entry-level E40 phone is priced at Rs 4,490, while the M601 smartphone comes with a tag of Rs 7,990. AOC’s flagship tablet — D70V50G — which comes with dual-SIM functionality and supports voice-calling is priced at Rs 7,750.
Atul Jasra, Business Head, AOC India, said, “The Indian smart-device market is undergoing an exciting phase – with the customers preferring features and value for money over high-decibel-branded products. Being a company which believes in enchanting the consumers with high-quality yet affordable products; we are proud to expand our offerings to the smart-device segments.”
