US-based Otis Elevator and tech incubator T-Hub have announced an innovation challenge for Indian start-ups.

Participants should focus on areas like passenger demand anticipation, data analytics of passengers and smart interaction with other building equipment systems.

The Otis Innovation Challenge, which opens on Tuesday, would close on July 22. Short-listed start-ups will get an opportunity to present their solutions on the Pitch Day scheduled on August 10. They will also get an opportunity to work with Otis for developing solutions at its Hyderabad facility.

Otis manufacturers people-moving products like elevators, escalators and moving walkways. The challenge is aimed at finding technology-based solutions that can be integrated with Otis products.

“We are reinventing ourselves as a mobility company leveraging our ever-growing digital ecosystem to meet the evolving needs of customers and users in a hyper-connected world,” Thierry Jomard, Senior Vice-President (Operations and Engineering) of Otis, said.

Demo Day

On Demo Day to be held in October, handpicked start-ups would showcase their respective proof of concepts to top executives of Otis and other UTC business units.
