As the news of Jet Airways’ temporary shut-down hit social media, users and well-wishers took to the Twitter to pour out their sadness at losing the service of a long-standing airline brand.
“This is very unfortunate. Career of over 23,000 people at stake & India’s leading aviation company collapsed!! It’s painful to see that our government not interfering to help the company & it’s employees...change the management but protect the company and its employees’ career,” tweeted Sanjay Singh (@ss_ssingh)
Many users were worried about the status of their already booked ticket and if the airline would refund the booking amount. “All cancelled. And refund is unknown. My brother and his family had multi-city ticket booking next month and now refund status unknown!,” said Varsha Sethia@Varsha1901, a marketing professional from Mumbai.
Others shared memories about the airline. “For 12 years your 5:55 AM departure to Vadodara has been my cue that I am home. And my mom’s that it’s morning because “Jet just landed”. You were gracious & efficient. I hope you fly again,” tweeted Ameya Chitre@spottingfoodie, an aviation geek.
Pune-based lawyer Rosemary Ambale@rosemaryamle said “#JetAirways really really sorry to see the dying throes of the once unbeatable giant..hope you rise from this crisis soon.”
