Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Ltd's board of directors has agreed, subject to necessary approvals, to sell its sunmica division located at Rudrapur, to AICA Laminates India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of AICA Kogyo Ltd, Japan, as a going concern on slump sale basis for a lump sum consideration of Rs 100.30 crore.

A Business Transfer Agreement to this effect has been signed between the parties on Wednesday. AICA Kogyo Ltd is one of the leading listed Japanese companies engaged in laminate business, besides adhesives and other building products.

The decision to sell sunmica division is in line with restructuring plan to focus on core business and divest low return businesses.

Suzlon Energy Ltd has secured cumulative new orders of 85 MW in India. According to Mr Tulsi R. Tanti, Chairman and Managing Director of Suzlon, the orders reflected the confidence of its customers in its products and services.

They were from a broad range of customers in corporate, PSU and small/ medium business segments including GAIL India Ltd for 14.7 MW comprising seven units of Suzlon's S88 — 2.1-MW wind turbines to be commissioned in Gujarat within six months from the date of order and from Khatau Narbheram & Co, Oswal Group, KRBL Ltd, and Varun Industries Ltd, etc.

What was noteworthy was that more than 40 per cent of these were repeat orders.
