Tracking gains in other base metals amid firming global cues, lead strengthened by 0.54 per cent in futures trade today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in August moved up by 65 paise or 0.54 per cent to Rs 120 per kg with a business turnover of 87 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in July rose by 50 paise or 0.42 per cent to Rs 119.45 per kg, with a turnover of 1,339 lots.
Market analysts said besides a firming trend in copper and other base metals at the LME, on the back of data which showed that US manufacturing grew at a surprisingly strong pace, mainly influenced lead and other base metal prices at futures trade.
