Pepper markets on Friday ruled steady on matching demand and supply. On the terminal market, 30 tonnes of exchange released pepper were traded at ₹615-617 a kg and seven tonnes of high range pepper at ₹610.
Exporters were buying at $9,350 a tonne for shipping out to their own processing facilities in Vietnam, at a time when Vietnam was offering V Asta at $8,375.
Spot prices remaine unchanged at ₹60,400 (ungarbled) and ₹63,400 (garbled) a quintal. February and March contracts on the IPSTA remained steady at ₹61,500 and ₹60,000 a quintal. Export prices were at $9,350 a tonne c&f for Europe and $9,600 for the US.
