Asian shares were trading lower on Tuesday due to profit-taking by investors ahead of the US Federal Reserve meeting where they will look for indicators on its plans to exit its easy monetary policy.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell 121.32 points or 1.25 per cent to 9,550.64. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shed 272.4 points or 1.13 per cent to 23,865.91. Singapore’s Straits Times was down 14.25 points or 0.45 per cent at 3,173.47.
South Korea’s Kospi lost 17.42 points or 0.79 per cent to 2,198.58. China’s Shanghai Composite dipped 27.22 points or 0.92 per cent to 2,937.73. Taiwan’s Taiex dropped 54.69 points or 0.61 per cent to 8,896.06.
