Asian stocks extended a seven-week losing streak today on fears the global recovery is losing steam.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell 76.1 points or 0.8 per cent to 9,438.34. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shed 174.39 points or 0.78 per cent to 22,245.98. Singapore’s Straits Times was down 20.2 points or 0.66 per cent at 3,058.15. South Korea’s Kospi was down 7.34 points or 0.36 per cent at 2,039.33.
New Zealand’s NZX 50 was down 10.11 points or 0.29 per cent at 3,480.52. China’s Shanghai Composite declined 30.04 points or 1.11 per cent to 2,675.10. Taiwan’s Taiex dipped 130.47 points or 1.48 per cent to 8,707.35.
