Asian stocks were trading higher on Tuesday but investors were worried over higher energy prices which would impede the global economic recovery.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 gained 40.42 points or 0.38 per cent to 10,545.44. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was up 34.28 points or 0.15 per cent at 23,347.47. Singapore’s Straits Times was up 1.24 points or 0.04 per cent at 3,067.76. South Korea’s Kospi rose 16.85 points or 0.85 per cent to 1,997.12.
Australia’s S&P/Asx 200 was up 9.1 points or 0.19 per cent at 4,807.00. China’s Shanghai Composite was down 15.91 points or 0.53 per cent at 2,980.30. Taiwan’s Taiex climbed 22.12 points or 0.25 per cent to 8,735.91.
