Asian stocks were trading in a mixed range on Wednesday as investors remained jittery because of the turmoil in West Asia. Oil prices fell for a second day as OPEC considered raising production.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 50.18 points or 0.48 per cent to 10,575.37. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 144.15 points or 0.61 per cent to 23,855.85. Singapore’s Straits Times was down 11.12 points or 0.36 per cent at 3,092.72. South Korea’s Kospi was up 1.72 points or 0.09 per cent at 1,998.04.
Australia’s S&P/Asx 200 fell 44.6 points or 0.93 per cent to 4,763.60. China’s Shanghai Composite was down 4.21 points or 0.14 per cent at 2,995.73. Taiwan’s Taiex was down 2.61 points or 0.03 per cent at 8,745.14.
