The NSE on Monday filed an affidavit in the Delhi High Court seeking a “complete order” of the Competition Commission of India (CCI).
The stock exchange is understood to have contended that the recent CCI order was incomplete as it did not contain the portion of dissent of certain members of the CCI. The NSE is taking a stance that CCI's order was a majority order and that it was important for it to have the complete order (including the dissent notes) before it can respond to the CCI's show cause notice, sources said.
The NSE is required to file its response to the notice by June 2. The latest move may give it more time to respond, say experts.
The CCI had held that the NSE had abused its dominant market position and indulged in unfair trade practices.
