Shares of Australian oil companies Santos Ltd and Origin Energy Ltd rose between 1.8 per cent and 2.5 per cent as crude oil futures rose around one per cent on Tuesday after Saudi Arabia pledged to work towards oil price stability.
Santos was the biggest percentage gainer on S&P/ASX 200 Energy (GIC).
S&P/ASX 200 Energy (GIC) Index was down around 26 per cent this year, as of Monday’s close.
