Banking stocks surged in Monday morning trade, emerging the predominant gainers on both the NSE and BSE. At 10.39 am Bank of Baroda was the top gainer on the NSE, trading at Rs 146.80, up 3.31 per cent on its previous close at Rs 142.10.
YES Bank gained 3.14 per cent to trade at Rs 855.95 as against its Friday close at Rs 829.90.
Axis Bank advanced 2.79 per cent at Rs 566.95. The share had closed the previous week at Rs 551.55.
Kotak Mahindra Bank was up 2.75 per cent at Rs 1,364.70 as against Rs 1,328.15 at close on Friday.
IndusInd Bank was up 2.49 per cent at Rs 855.50 as against Rs 834.70 at close last week.
