Axis Bank opened a branch at Gopalapatnam on Tuesday, the fifth in the city, according to a press release. Mr K.V.S.M. Sudhakar, the senior vice-president and circle head, said the focus would be on consumer banking and the retail segment. He said Axis was the third largest private bank in the country, with a network of 1,192 branches and 5,590 ATMs. The bank has a customer base of over one crore.
