National Insurance Company (NIC) has launched Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana, a health insurance policy for below-poverty-line people, in 69 districts of eight States in the country, including nine districts of West Bengal, according to a NIC release.
As many as 50 lakh families totalling 2.2 crore individuals have been covered under the scheme and more than Rs 40 crore have been paid so far towards claim settlement, the release added.
