The regional office of the Reserve Bank of India has advised assessees to remit income tax sufficiently in advance of the due date.

The appeal is being issued in their own interests so that last minute rush and related inconvenience may be avoided, an official spokesman said here.

It has been observed that the rush for remitting income-tax dues into the Reserve Bank has been far too heavy towards the end of June.

It becomes difficult for the bank to cope with the pressure of receipts although additional counters to the maximum extent possible are provided for the purpose.
