Aakash Institute, the New Delhi-based coaching academy, plans to launch a mobile app for students in April.
Aakash Chaudhry, Director, Aakash Educational Services Ltd, said, “Today, a student has a very packed schedule considering the competitive environment. In April, we are launching a mobile app which will have only educational content. This will help the student engage with questions, do assignments and view video lectures while they are travelling.”
The app would be available to any student and after logging in, some of the material will be free, while the rest would have to be purchased.
The coaching institute has over 80,000 students and close to 100 centres, out of which about 65 are company-owned and 35 franchisees. “The employee strength is about 2,000 and teachers account for roughly half of this,” Chaudhry said. Going forward, the aim is to add about 10-12 centres a year, he added.
