West Bengal-based private educational institution NSHM Knowledge Campus has planned a Rs 350-crore expansion plan.
The proposed plan includes a new campus at Lavasa, Pune, and a university in Durgapur, a press note said. Currently, NSHM runs eight colleges offering 28 different courses from its twin campuses in Kolkata and Durgapur.
To promote its brand, NSHM has roped in former cricketing star Ravi Shastri as its goodwill ambassador. NSHM Knowledge Campus expects to impart skills training to 1 lakh students in the next five years in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation.
The proposed NSHM Knowledge University at Durgapur is to cost Rs 200 crore. The Lavasa and Pune projects are estimated to require an outlay of Rs 150 crore, according to Cecil Antony, Managing Trustee of NSHM.
