Indian Institute of Management Calcutta has become the first IIM to obtain the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation in business programmes for a period of 5 years.
Formerly known as the American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business, AACSB was one of the key organisations in internationalizing business education. Through this accreditation, IIM Calcutta joins this elite network such as Harvard, Yale and Columbia University.
The institute will now get more foreign faculty members to teach students and collaborate globally on areas of research.
IIM Calcutta, accredited by Association of MBAs (AMBA) this year, is also the only member from India of the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS), which is an elite club of 29 premier business schools from across the world.
