Jain University has launched a weekend course on “Introduction to Indian Astronomy”.
The Center for Ancient History & Culture (CAHC), Jain University will organise this course on the 26th and 27th of May & on the 2nd and 3rd June, 2018 at Jain University Campus, JC Road, Bengaluru.
The course focuses on some fundamental and crucial topics regarding Indian astronomy in the aim of equipping participants with basic knowledge in the field. Some of the topics to be discussed are Astronomical concepts in the Vedas, shulba sutras and Dhruva the Pole Star, transition to mathematical astronomy.
Students pursuing M. Phil. and Ph. D. in science, mathematics, history, sanskrit and humanities, teachers, and those specifically interested in the area of Indian culture and heritage can register at a minimal cost before 21st May, 2018. The course will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the above mentioned mentioned dates.
