Tata Sons has announced that it would support construction of a new academic block at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-Hyderabad) in memory of TCS founder F C Kohli. Tata Sons Chairman Cyrus Mistry conveyed this to Telangana Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao in Mumbai on Wednesday.
Kohli, considered to be the father of Indian IT industry, laid the foundation for Tata Consultancy Services, which later emerged as the number one IT firm in the country.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Government is in the process of inviting top industrialists to a meeting convened on June 12 to announce TS-iPASS, the new Industrial Policy of the State.
The Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self Certification System (TS-iPASS) aims at creating a flexible, hassle-free environment for the industry. Besides offering sops to the industry, the policy promises single-window clearances to project proposals in 15 days. The Assembly passed the policy framework in November 2014.
