Two students of Manipal University have developed a mobile app – ‘Elixir Manipal’ – to facilitate students of the university to book appointments with doctors of Kasturba Hospital in Manipal in case of a need, and to know the services rendered by the hospital.
A press release by the university said here that Saurish Reddy, who is a third-year student of Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, and Ankit Awal, who just completed his B Tech at Manipal Institute of Technology, developed this app.
Students can now use the app to fix an appointment with any doctor. Last year, Kasturba Hospital decided to get an app developed, and the responsibility was given to Solert DevOps Pvt Ltd, a healthcare start-up pre-incubated at Manipal University’s Technology Business Incubator. Reddy and Awal, who represented the start-up, took it upon themselves to develop the app.
The release said that these students hope to provide the solutions to other healthcare institutions nationwide with their technology.
H Vinod Bhat, Vice Chancellor of the university, launched the app in Manipal recently.
