A Chennai court will take up a case filed by the Enforcement Directorate against AIADMK (Amma) deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran today. The charge is that Dhinkaran had acquired $1,04,93,313 in forex without the RBI’s nod and deposited it in the account of Dipper Investments, a firm incorporated in the British Virgin Islands.

A proposal to waive farmers’ loans will be tabled during UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s first Cabinet meeting today. Proposals regarding recent decisions related to the government’s crackdown on illegal slaughterhouses as well as BJP’s poll promise of action against the land mafia could also be tabled at the meeting.

The UDF in Kerala is to organise a dharna in Munnar today to highlight the problems the area is facing. Leader of the Opposition Ramesh Chennithala wanted the State government to distinguish between settlers and encroachers while handling Munnar cases.

The Punjab Agriculture Department is to launch district-level farmer training camps from today. The purpose of these camps is to disseminate technical inputs and other knowhow of cultivation of different crops.
