Tokyo-based trading firm Mitsui & Company has invested $101 million in Columbia Asia hospitals.
Mitsui has invested in healthcare ventures in Asia and Columbia Asia is a part of the Seattle-based Columbia Pacific Management, with 27 hospitals and one clinic in India, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia.
With this investment, Columbia Asia will expand its network of hospitals across Asia, including several projects which are currently under development, company officials said.
Columbia Asia currently has 10,000 employees. It caters to 2.5 million patients a year, and has 2,200 beds across 27 hospitals and one clinic.
