Oct 30 The Andhra Pradesh government would provide interest-free crop loans to the tune of Rs 50,000 crore from the next financial year, the Chief Minister, N Kiran Kumar Reddy said today.
This fiscal, the government planned to give Rs 42,000 crore crop loans interest-free and the farmers had to pay back only the original loan amount while the government would pay the interest to the banks, he said.
Reddy was addressing a public meeting at Narayankhed in Medak district on the second day of his `Indiramma Bata’ (on the path shown by Indiramma) mass-contact programme.
