G. Bhavani Prasad assumed office as the Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission here today.
I.Y.R. Krishna Rao, State Chief Secretary, administered the oath of office and secrecy to Bhavani Prasad at the Lakeview Guest House.
After taking oath as Chairman, APERC, Bhavani Prasad said the Commission would protect the interests of consumers and balance the interest of various stakeholders. Seeking the cooperation of stakeholders, he said the Commission would promote competition among utilities.
Following the division of Andhra Pradesh into Telangana and the residual State of AP, both the States function independently and have separate regulatory commissions.
