Cold wave persists in parts of UP

Parts of Uttar Pradesh continued to reel under cold wave conditions with temperature remaining 7 to 11 degree Celsius below normal at several places.

State capital Lucknow recorded 1.4 deg C and remained the coldest place in the state during the past 24 hours.

Night temperatures were markedly below normal in Varanasi, Bareilly, Moradabad divisions, appreciably below normal in Gorakhpur, Bahraich, Allahabad, Kanpur, Lucknow and Agra divisions and normal in the remaining divisions of the state, the meteorological department said.

The met forecast that fog and mist would occur at one or two places and cold wave condition would continue in parts of the state.
