Rajya Sabha MP Ram Jethmalani and feminist Madhu Purnima Kishwar — known admirers of Prime Minister Narendra Modi —have locked horns with the Government over a notice from the Home Ministry to Kishwar’s NGO Manushi for violating the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).
The duo said the BJP Government is continuing with the harassment being meted out to Manushi by the previous UPA Government by ordering an FCRA enquiry into its accounts.
Kishwar said she has not been receiving any donations from foreign individuals or organisations and whatever donations Manushi received were published in its website.
“We received just ₹31 lakh in the last eight years,” she told a press conference here on Wednesday.
