Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has taken the Internet by storm. No, not for any on-going controversy with his father Mulayam Singh Yadav but with his YouTube Republic Day video message .
The video, which was launched exclusively on YouTube via a masthead, had a minimalist approach, which also reflects the 36-year-old's humble personality, said a source close to Yadav's shared. The video has crossed 3 million views and is seeing positive engagement from across India.
Yadav, who is fighting the upcoming UP elections from Samajwadi Party, is gearing up for for a massive digital campaign in the coming days focusing around the development the state has witnessed during his tenure as the Chief Minister. His official campaign is called #KaamBoltaHai which started as a digital campaign and now is being taken ahead as a complete 360 integrated marketing campaign.
Yadav, an engineer & techie himself, believes in the power of social media and its reach as he is targeting the youth, who are consuming content on social media every second, said the source adding that Akhilesh is extremely focused on new age technologies & platforms. His progressive outlook seems to be working in his favour with him leading the race in most opinion polls as the most preferred next chief ministerial candidate of Uttar Pradesh.
Ahmed Aftab Naqvi, who is the Campaign Strategist and is heading this digital campaign was unavailable for comments.
