The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has hit upon a new idea, Bhoodhar card on the lines of Aadhaar card, which will be a digital record of each individual land holding with a particular number.

He mooted the idea today at a Janmabhoomi programme in Chittoor district. He said the government was contemplating issuing such a Bhoodhar card to the land-holder, containing all the details. There would be a secret number to each card.

“The status of the land can be known easily and at the same time there would be safeguards to ensure data security. Further, there will be geo-tagging and one can access the record at the click of a button,” he explained.

Further, the Chief Minister said, the government was also thinking of providing digital lockers to citizens. “You need not carry all the important documents, relating to your health for instance or other matters, and you can store and access the data any time you want,” he told the audience.

He reiterated that his government would leverage technology to provide good governance and quality service to the public.
