Bhabha Atomic Research Centre has come forward to disseminate several water purification devices and desalination technologies developed by it to potential business partners.
And for the first time a one-day business meet on the feasible business ventures is being organised by the Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute in association with BARC on June 23rd in Coimbatore.
J Daniel Chellappa, Senior Scientist (TCW-NRB), BARC said that water experts wiil be conducting brain storming sessions on the R&D establishment's water technologies, product manufacturing protocols, technology transfer procedures and lot more to prospective and potential business partners.
The dissemination of such technologies is considered crucial considering that the quality of water is at stake in nearly all parts of the country.
The database of the Union Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MDWS) reveals that about 65,000 habitations and over 46 million people are affected by water contaminants like fluoride, arsenic, iron, nitrate etc.
