As on Friday, the total number of Covid-19 tests conducted across Andhra Pradesh State stood at 4,23,604, according to data of Covid-19 Command Control, Govt of Andhra Pradesh.
Out of these, 4,250 have been detected as positive cases. While 3,377 victims of the dreaded virus were from Andhra Pradesh, 616 were from other States and 119 were foreign returnees. Significantly, 2,294 patients have been discharged and 1016 are being treated.
Over the last 24 hours 138 new cases were detected.
It may be noted that as on May 1, 2020 the number of tests conducted in the State were little over one lakh.
“As per available data, Andhra Pradesh now stand first in the country with 7,748 tests for million population followed by Tamil Nadu which is conducting 6,864 tests,” A Srikanth, State Nodal Officer - Covid-19, AP said.
The percentage of Covid positive cases stands at less than one per cent the discharge rate has been higher compared to the national average and that of the other states in the country, he added.
Meanwhile, in the last twenty four hours, 138, new Covid-19 positive cases have been detected. According to a health bulletin, out of 9831 samples tested since Thursday, 138 tested positive out of which only 50 were from the state. The remaining were from those others States as well as foreign returnees.
