A local court in Nirmal, Adilabad district on Wednesday sent MIM MLA, Akbaruddin Owaisi, to 14 days judicial remand in the hate-speech case.
Akbaruddin, who was arrested in Hyderabad on Tuesday evening, was produced before the magistrate this morning after he was questioned in the Nirmal police station.
Akbaruddin had requested the magistrate to give him special status and also shift him to Hyderabad as he was not keeping well. He was later shifted to Adilabad amidst tight security.
He is facing criminal charges for his recent speeches in Nirmal and Nizamabad in which he allegedly passed provocative remarks on Hindus.
