Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Joint Managing Director Sangita Reddy has said the function of human resource is all about connecting with people and understanding their pain and requirements.
It needs to listen to their needs, and plan for them “as if they are your own family,” she said.
Addressing the third annual HR Summit of Hysea (Hyderabad Software Exporters’ Association) here on Friday, she said the days of the culture of autocratic leadership were gone.
“Though the technology is changing the way the organisations are functioning, the human aspect in human resources functions would stay,” she said. The day-long event discussed the latest trends and challenges. Senior HR practitioners and top executives of IT industry attended the conference. Anand Pillai, Managing Director of Leadership Matters, spoke about the disruption happening in the human resources practice.
He said several of HR functions have been ‘app’ified, severing several tasks from the traditional HR department. He felt that organisations must appraise the performance of employees on a continuous basis instead of the annual appraisals.
