AIADMK MLAs unanimously elected party general secretary J Jayalalithaa as their legislature party leader.
The meeting of the MLAs was held at the party headquarters, a day after the AIADMK emerged victorious in the Assembly elections held on May 16, according to a party press release.
Out of the 232 assembly constituencies that went to the polls, the AIADMK bagged 134 seats. The opposition DMK won 89 seats while Congress bagged eight and Indian Union Muslim League one.
Polling was deferred at Thanjavur and Aravakuruchi constituencies till May 23.
